How to Match Windows Disks to VmWare Disks

  1. Log in to the Windows server and launch the Server Manager.
  2. Right-click the disk in question and select Properties. Note the “Target ID” number.

  4. Launch VmWare vSphere and right-click the VM in question, then select Edit Settings.
  5. As you click on the virtual disks pay attention to VMDK file name. You’ll want to match that number to the “Target ID” identified in step 2.
